CHANDIGARH: After launching master���s degree in human rights and duties at Panjab University, the subject will now be offered in PU-affiliated colleges from the next academic session (2009-10).
Students studying in undergraduate courses in colleges can opt for the subject from the next session. Rules for the subject at the undergraduate level will remain the same as are for other elective subjects.
Meanwhile, PU is also introducing MBA in hotel management and hospitality from the next session.
The course will offer 50-100 seats and admission will be granted through CAT.
There is also good news for students who want to pursue a career in tourism and hotel industry. PU will soon open an institute of tourism and hotel. The authorities are in a process of finalizing the number of seats as well as the fee structure of the course.
Besides, a one-year post-graduate diploma course in homeland security will be introduced at the Centre for Defence and National Security Studies from the session 2009-10.
The course will focus on internal security and counter terrorism. While there will be a total of 25 seats, 15 will be reserved for in-service (defence) candidates and 10 will be open to civilians. Moreover, a three-month executive certificate course in disaster management & security has also been introduced.
